Before you start reading this text, it would be good to communicate the level of expectations at the beginning. You will probably find it interesting if you are thinking about your future as an entrepreneur or you are an employee of a company with clear aspirations for something more. These experiences are universal and range from small and medium enterprises to a global corporate structure, but keep in mind that if you are in a large company that has a clear matrix organization and corporate organizational structure, the rules are slightly different and situations may arise. . Of course, large state-owned companies are an exception, which have their own peculiarities and are not taken as a reference in this text. In general, entrepreneurship is usually considered an innovative business start-up process. While this is generally true, some nuances and specificities that move away from innovation need to be taken into account in part.

I have a habit of always looking at what the most relevant think and say about a topic, so on this topic "Harvard Business School" defines entrepreneurship as:

"Seeking opportunities and opportunities beyond currently controlled resources." or "An opportunity is a proposed venture to sell a product or service for which customers are willing to pay more than the required investment and operating costs. ”

According to this definition, entrepreneurs - either as individuals or as teams - discover opportunities throughout their personal and professional lives. They make assumptions about ways they can deliver value to customers and conduct structured actions to validate their ideas. This often involves hiring teams and investing funds to create a product or service at an affordable and competitive price. It should always be borne in mind that large entrepreneurs come from all spheres of life, business and cultural civilization civilization systems and are generally not determined by level of education.

The same source notes that: "There is no single profile of an entrepreneur's personality and it is important to pay attention to the entrepreneurial team and not focus solely on the individual."

However, there are general definitions of the desirable characteristics of an entrepreneur: Curiosity

Structured experimentation

Adaptability

Determination

Team Building - the ability to build and lead teams

Willingness to take risks

Ability to cope with failure

Perseverance

Innovation

Long-term focus

If we have recognized ourselves in at least two-thirds of these traits, it is time to consider whether we should focus on entrepreneurship, if we have not already.

  • What is important to us to be able to go? Experienced business advisors and today more and more life advisors, or popularly "coaches" say that it is important to know what you want, but that it is enough to know what you do not want, so it is enough to start. If I copy this claim to myself, my business start came at the twilight of the socialist economy and the apparently unstoppable growth of the free capitalist economy in the late 1980s. And as it usually happens, my first job happened in a private company in 1989. and not because I knew what I wanted or didn't want, but because I was lucky, although I must admit that thinking about what I want or don't want has accompanied me throughout my career to this day. Namely, my job literally knocked on my door in the form of a friend of my landlord with the question: kid, you are a future engineer, we are looking for new system technicians, do you want to do a probationary period? As a graduate before graduation it would be hard to find a better option than getting a job before graduation and the answer flew out of your mouth before the brain was able to activate a set of functions for analytics and rational reasoning. And this is where the journey begins, which with a look back now from this perspective I can freely qualify as the start of a future manager and entrepreneur.
